What does the Tea Party have in common with the original Boston Tea Party?

Posted July 17th, 2010, by Moderator

It is NOT a Neo-Boston Tea Party. That EVENT was just that, a single event. The TEA MOVEMENT is an ongoing liberty movement much like the Abolition & Civil Rights movements and will not be going away anytime soon.

The acronym (TEA) stands for (T)axed (E)nough (A)lready. Additional similarities between that and the original TEA party are of a citizenry that wanted to make a statement of freedom and of defiance and of being displeased regarding taxes. The Bush bailouts were the straw that broke the camels back and led people to the streets to protest. The stomping on of that straw and adding 200 more like it by the Obama administration just added insult to injury. So the similarities fit enough for people to call it a TEA PARTY (like) MOVEMENT.

but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy..."-Martin Luther King Jr.
